Instead, we're going to have two points of contact, which is going to be the rear strap here, and this is adjustable the length of the bike rack to accommodate for bikes of different sizes. Then up at the front here, we're going to have the skewer mount that's going to grip your bike by the forks.This top portion is lockable, so once this is locked down, you can't remove your bike, therefore your bike is secured to the rack, and you can't remove your bike rack from the roof rack, so it's secure that way as well. With everything as installed as it is, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between the bike rack and the trunk. more

Instead, it's going to grip it by this wheel mount at the rear here, which is adjustable on the length of the bike rack to accommodate for different size bikes.Then, up at the front here, at this moment we have a nine millimeter skewer mount that grips your bike by the forks. You can remove this and replace this so it can be used with through axles as well. At the top portion here, there is a lock that's in place, or a lock core that you can use, as well as this point here. more

Rhino Rack Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ford Taurus- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack Hybrid roof top bike rack, part number RRRBC050. What sets this apart from most roof bike racks is the fact that you don't have to take the front wheel off, and there's not a fork mount. Instead, we have this wheel hook up at the front to hold everything in place, and then we have two wheel straps on either side.It also comes with locks for an integrated cable lock that is included, so you can secure your bike to the bike rack, and there's also a lock up top here, which you can lock the bike rack to the roof rack as well, but we'll get to that in a minute. With the bike rack installed as it is, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between the trunk and bike rack. As you can see here there's plenty of space.The straps here are adjustable back and forth to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Let's go ahead and take the bike off. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Taurus, we're gonna be test fitting the Rhino-RacK MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Rack, part number RBC035. We have our bike installed, and as you can see how it installs, there's gonna be no frame contact at all. Instead, we're gonna have this rear wheel strap at the back here, and this is adjustable along the length of the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes.Then we have this fork mount up at the front, or steer mount up at the front, excuse me that grips by your bike's forks. This is lockable at the end here, so once this is attached, you can lock this done to secure your bike to the bike rack. It also locks up at the top here to secure to your roof rack as well, but we'll get to that in a minute or two.As it stands right now with everything installed, we're not gonna have an issue of clearance between the trunk and the bike rack as you can see here. Of course, plenty of space between the two. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Rocky Mounts Brass Knuckles Rooftop bike rack, part number RKY1202.We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. With no frame contact at all. We're going to have the two straps to either side, which are adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes, and then we'll have this wheel hook up at the front with these brass knuckle-like handles here to pull it down into place.Now, this is pretty unique as opposed to most other rooftop bike racks, as they usually grip the bike by your fork mats and you have to remove your front tire. With everything installed as it is, there's going to be more than enough space between a bike rack and the trunk so you're not going to have any issues of clearance.Let's go ahead and take the bike off real quick. more

How your bike is going to be gripped to the bike rack, we're not gonna have any frame contact at all. Instead, we're gonna have a rear wheel mount here, which is adjustable to accommodate for bikes of different sizes, and a wheel strap that'll hold the wheel in place.Up at the front, we have this skewer mount, which is gonna hold your bike by the fork mounts here, so you'll have to remove your front tire. At the end here, there is actually a locking mechanism that you can take this plastic piece out, and replace with the Thule lock core, which is sold separately. Once you lock this down, not only are you going to lock the bike to the bike rack, but the bike rack is going to be secured to your roof rack as well, and we'll get to that later.With everything installed, the issue of clearance is gonna be non-existent between the trunk and the bike rack. As you can see, there's plenty of space in between. more

We already have our bike installed on the rack and one of the biggest differences between this and most other bike racks is the fact that it grips it by your front tire, so you don't have to actually remove it like you would with most others. It grips your bike at three points. We're goin to have this rear wheel strap here. Which is adjustable, the length of the bike rack to accommodate for bikes of different sizes. Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we are going to be test fitting the Yakima front loader, a wheel mount roof bike rack, part #Y02103. With our Yakima Q tower roof rack system already installed on our Taurus, we are going to begin our test fit by placing our back rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the front, we'll bring the two portions of the clamp to the front side of our cross bar and the single portion of our clamp will go around the rear. We will then use the T-handle located in the front to tighten this down. With our front secure, we will now move to the rear. Here we're going to loosen the black T-nut, remove the T-bolt from the slot on the lower half of the clamp, bring our clamp around our bar, re-insert the T-bolt and tighten it down with the T-nut. With our rack secure, it is now time to load our bike. We'll first undo our wheel strap and move our front wheel cradle all the way to it's forward position. We'll now grab our bike, place it onto the rack, allow it to roll forward slowly, bringing up the smaller rear half of the front wheel cradle. more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman upright roof bike rack, part number S64720. With our Yakima Q tower roof rack system already installed on the Taurus, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly on to our crossbars. Here at the front we'll bring two of the metal U-bolts around the underside of our bar, fit them through the head of the rack, and use two wingnuts to secure each one in place. With all four of our wingnuts in the front tight, we can now move to the rear. This time we're going to place the U-bolt down through the rack, around our bar, being sure that we have threads on both sides of our crossbar. We'll then bring the metal portion of the clamp up, place the U-bolt through it, and then we'll secure this in place using two of the wingnuts. With the rear secured it's now time to load our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down, the fork mount roof bike rack, part number S64710. We'll repeat the same process on the other side of the front of the carrier here, and then secure down all 4 of our wing nuts. With our front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to place one of the U-bolts down through the rack. We'll be sure that it comes down on both sides of our crossbar. more

SportRack Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the SportRack Roof Mount Bike Rack part number SR4622. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack system already installed on the Taurus, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. At the front we'll bring one of the black rubber coated metal U-Bolts around the underside of our bar, fit it through the head of the carrier and hold it in place with two wing nuts. On the other side of the front we'll repeat that same process, then we can tighten all four wing nuts down to secure the front of our rack to our front bar. We'll now moved to the rear bar, where we're going to place two carriage bolts through the rack, being sure that they come out on both sides of our rear crossbar, we'll then place the black plastic portion of our clamp in between our rack and our load bar being sure that these carriage bolts go through it. Then we'll bring our metal portion of our clamp around the underside of our bar. We'll fit the two bolts through it and secure it and place using two wing nuts. With these two secure, it's now time to load our bike. more

Here at the front we'll bring the black rubber coated metal straps around the underside of our bar. We'll then remove the black plastic cover. We can take our straps, fit them into the appropriate slots. Then, use our Allen key to tighten our Allen bolt. more

Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio, a Fork Mount Roof Bike Rack with part number RU01. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack system already installed on the Taurus we're going to begin our test fit by placing the Trio directly onto our crossbars. At the front we'll bring the black rubber-coated metal U bolt around the underside of our bar, through the head of the carrier and we'll secure it in place using two cylinder nuts. We'll repeat this same process for the other side of the front. Then we can take our provided tool and tighten all four of our cylinder nuts down. We'll move to the rear where we're going to remove one of our wing nuts. We'll bring our clamp around our bar, being sure that one of our bolts is coming down on both sides. We'll reinsert the bolt through the lower half of our clamp, put on our wing nut and then we'll tighten down both wing nuts to secure it. more

Here at the front, we'll take one of the U-bolts, bring it around the underside of our crossbar and fit it up through the head of our carrier. We'll then take two of the wing nuts and thread them on just to hold that in place. The other side in the front we've got a second U-bolt, we're going to do the same as we did on the other side. Bring it around the underside of our bar and we adjust them so we've got both of our U-bolts in the same spot. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint. This is a fork-mount roof style bike rack, Part Number TH528. We've got the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System already installed here on the Taurus. So we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly up onto our load bars. We want to bring the black rubber-coated metal straps around the underside. To be sure that the top portion of our clamp is resting just right on top of those bars. We'll then bring the one at the rear here around the back, fit it into the foot of the carrier there. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test-fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch. This is a fork mount roof bike rack. It's part #RKY1011. We've got our Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system already installed on this Taurus. We'll begin our test fit, by placing the bike rack up on to our crossbars. Here at the front we're going to remove the black plastic cover, and remove the two rubber-coated metal straps from the head of the carrier. We'll then bring those around the underside of our crossbar, fit them back into the head of the carrier, and secure them by tightening down the Allen bolt right here in the front. With our front nice and secure, we can move to the rear. more

Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2012 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford Taurus well be test fitting the Yakima fork Lift roof mounted bike carrier, part number Y02098. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well first sit it up on top of our load bars. Well fit the clamp on the underside of the head around our crossbar and tighten it down using the T-bolt and wing nut. Then we can reinstall our hardware cover and reinstall our skewer. At the rear of the bike rack well fit the rear clamp around our bar and again use the T-bolt and wing nut to tighten it down. We also want to make sure that our wheel strap is open so that we can go ahead and load our bike. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Ford Taurus- Video
Alright, today on this 2012 Ford Taurus, were going to do a test fit of the Yakima FrontLoader Bike Carrier, part number Y02103. Now, the vehicle has already been equipped with the Yakima Roof Rack System so all we got to do is go ahead and put our bicycle carrier on the roof rack. Well take a bike rack and well set it down on the front crossbar and then adjust the rear clamp for the second crossbar. Well go ahead and leave our rear clamp loosely installed and well go ahead and tighten up the clamp going towards the front first. Now, we can go ahead and move on to the rear clamp, tighten it down, and well double check to make sure the rack is sitting square with the car and thats all it takes to install the bike rack. At this point, we can go ahead and load up the bike. more
